Gigabit Ethernet - Fiber

Gigabit Ethernet moves data at speeds of 1000 mbps (megabits per second). There is also the 10 Gigabit standard that is becoming popular in core networking equipment and iSCSI SAN's within the data center. While copper based NIC's (Network Interface Cards) can support Gigabit connection speeds, Fiber connections can support much more throughput than copper.

Optical - Lit Services, Wavelengths

WDM or Wavelength-division multiplexing allows a single physical fiber optic cable to carry multiple wavelengths of light thereby creating many physical network connections over a single fiber optic cable. Each signal can vary in speed from one Gigabit per second to 10 Gigabits per second and up. WDM technology is ideal for lighting up long distance private point-to-point Ethernet circuits.

Fast Ethernet - Copper

Fast Ethernet is delivered over copper network cables and can typically carry connection speeds of 100 mbps (Megabits Per Second).

Optical Carrier (OCx)

Optical Carrier circuits range in connection speeds from 50 mbps to nearly 40 gbps and theoretically higher. Optical Carrier circuits are also ideal for long range point-to-point connectivity.

Content Distribution Networks - CDN

Content delivery and acceleration offloads static content requests, such as images, videos and file downloads, from your web servers. These requests are globally load balanced and distributed to specialized edge servers to maximize performance and ensure high-availability.
